We're giving the blogging thing another shot so here goes. That is, if I can get my keyboard to cooperate.
Welcome to the Other Side of the Cucumber. A blog dedicated to my not-one-of-the-cool-kids life. Most people probably find me weird or confusing but I don't really care. This is my way of talking out those feelings because I actually do care.
So, I'm not cool. At all. Never have been. When I was in middle school I wanted to start my own cheerleading club that allowed bigger girls because I was already overweight and could see where my future was headed. What I didn't think about was the fact that I had no training and no interest from my classmates. All I was this adorable super-short red skirt that I wore to school every day for ages that looked just like a cheerleader skirt. I wanted so badly to fit in (with the kids and into that skirt). Sadly, I never did.
Now, I'm 36 and I spend far too much time trying to impress my co-workers with my off-beat humor (random Ron Burgundy quotes that have nothing to do with the current conversation anyone?) or even the random driver next to me on the highway with my American Idol-audition-style singing complete with Kelly Clarkson impression. Yeah, I can sing but probably shouldn't as much as I do.
And my precious fiancee puts up with all of it. Sometimes I think he just lets me roll with it because it's easier than asking questions. And I sort of love him for that. I'd probably just make him feel stupid if asked anyway.
I suppose I am what some would consider "cheesy." Hence, the entry title. Everything is better with a side of cheese. Just like all music is better with trumpets.
